James J. Long

Long, James J. of Squantum, formerly of Malden, died June 25, 2016. Beloved husband of the late Anna (Duffin) Long, who passed away in 2014. He was a graduate of Malden Catholic High School, attended Boston College, graduated from Boston University and attended its law school. Jim was a navy veteran of the Korean War and served as a fire control man, second class for four years on board the heavy cruiser, U.S.S. Des Moines. He was recipient of The Good Conduct Medal and The Navy Occupational Service Medal. Jim spent 37 years as Senior Claims Representative for The Hartford Insurance Company, American International Group and Kemper Insurance Company. He retired in 1999.

He is survived by his brother Martin of Wakefield and sister Sarah Toomey of Florida. James is also survived by many nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by his twin brother John of Malden.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the visiting hours on Wednesday 9:00-10:30 AM in the Keohane Funeral Home, 785 Hancock St., QUINCY. A funeral mass will be held in Sacred Heart Church, Quincy at 11 AM. Burial in St. Joseph’s Cemetery, West Roxbury, next to his beloved wife.
