James J. “Joe” Murphy

Murphy, James J. “Joe” of Rockland, died June 2, 2013. 

A graduate of Boston College, Joe received his bachelors degree in accounting and worked for John Hancock as an actuarial consultant.  Joe enjoyed camping, crossword puzzles and playing card games especially scat and hearts.  Joe loved to watch his Boston sports teams especially the Red Sox.  He was a man of many trades who would spend his time outdoors, enjoying technology and reading about NASA.  Joe’s main passion was his family.  He will be sadly missed.

Loving husband of Joan Murphy of Rockland.  Devoted father of Kerrin Murphy of Sagamore Beach, Corrin Finnell and her husband Matthew of Rockland and Brendan Murphy and his wife Jennifer of Rutland, VT.  Beloved Papa of Keegan and Maiven Finnell, Kiera Marshall and Melody Murphy.  Predeceased by his parents John Leo Murphy and Grace (Hoey) Murphy.  Caring brother of Noreen Camarato of Shrewsbury, Margaret Murphy-Kusins of Duxbury, Gerard Murphy of Plymouth, John Murphy of Barre and the late Leo “Terry” Murphy and Grace Eileen Karbott.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the visiting hours on Thursday 4-8 PM in the McDonald Keohane Funeral Home SOUTH WEYMOUTH at 809 Main Street (Rte 18 opp. So. Shore Hospital)  Relatives and friends will gather in the funeral home at 8 AM on Friday prior to the Funeral Mass in Holy Family Parish,  at 9 AM. Burial in Holy Family Cemetery, Rockland.
