James H. “Jim” Donovan

Donovan, James “Jim” of Quincy, died January 8, 2018.

Beloved husband of 54 years to Bridget “Bridie” Donovan of Quincy.   Loving father of James Donovan Jr. and his wife Alysha of Salem, NH, Brenda Mullins and her husband Michael of Dorchester, John Donovan and his wife Heather of Plymouth and Brendan Donovan and his former wife Karen of Boston.  Cherished grandfather of Brianna, Jake, Isabella, Nicholas, Emily, Kristen and Jimmy.  Caring brother of the late Helen Donoghue.  Also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Jim was a United States Navy Veteran who served on the USS Ticonderoga CVS-14.  He worked for the Boston Gas Company for 35 years before his retirement.  Jim enjoyed traveling with his wife, especially to Las Vegas, Ireland and Montreal.  He was an avid Boston sports fan and would watch any games he could catch.  Jim’s main passion in life was his family and spending time with those he loved. He will be sadly missed by all those who had the pleasure of knowing him.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the visiting hours on Friday 4-8 PM in the McDonald Keohane Funeral Home NORTH WEYMOUTH at 40 Sea Street (off Route 3A – Bicknell Square). Relatives and friends will gather in the funeral home at 9:45 AM on Saturday prior to the Funeral Mass in St. Ann’s Church, Quincy at 10:30 AM.

In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Jim may be made to Old Colony Hospice, 321 Manley Stret, W. Bridgewater, MA 02379-1022.
