Doyle, James H. of Hingham, died suddenly on June 19, 2009 following a brief battle with cancer. He was 73. Jim was from a large Irish Catholic family, the third child of nine born to Mr. and Mrs. William J. Doyle of Newton Center. Jim is survived by his loving wife of 45 years Mary-Lou (Martin) Doyle; his 5 children, Brian Doyle of Long Island, NY, Marie Jackson of Minneapolis, MN, Joseph Doyle of Hingham, Kevin Doyle of Southboro, and Allison Mulligan of Sonoma, CA; his siblings, Patricia Flanagan of Sagamore Beach, Margaret Wheelan of Tampa, FL, Jack Doyle of Cotuit, and Richard Doyle of Marlboro. Known as “Pa” to his nine beloved grandchildren, Jim most recently enjoyed a family gathering on Memorial Day. In addition, numerous loving nieces and nephews survive Jim. Jim attended Boston College High School, graduating in the class of 1953 and he is a 1957 graduate of Boston College. Jim was an active member of both alumni organizations. He spent 9 years in the Massachusetts National Guard. Jim was a very successful commercial insurance industry broker spending 25 years with Marsh and McLennan and another 25 years with Willis, before retiring in 1999. To the surprise of his family, Jim enjoyed his retirement by staying active in the Hingham community. Jim spent 3 years on the Hingham Harbor Development Committee and also worked on the Hingham Traffic Committee. An avid exerciser and boater, he counted Mary’s on the North River in Scituate as one of his favorite places. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the visiting hours on Tuesday 4-8 PM in the Pyne Keohane Funeral Home, 21 Emerald St. (off Central St.), HINGHAM. A Life Celebration Service will be held in the funeral home on Wednesday at 9:15 AM prior to the Funeral Mass in Church of the Resurrection, 1057 Main St., Hingham Wednesday at 10 AM.
