James H. Connors

Connors, James H. of Quincy, died March 4, 2016 peacefully after battling cancer. 

James was the son of the late James A. and Rose T. (Harvey) Connors.  He was predeceased by his brother James A. Connors Jr. and is survived by his brother Michael J. Connors of Portland, ME, sister Cathleen R. Walsh and brother-in-law James L. Walsh Sr., of South Easton. He was the uncle of Michael Walsh, James Walsh Jr., Michele Casey and Colleen Rose all of Easton, Shannon Hruzd of West Bridgewater, Ryan Walsh of Medway, Jean Kennedy of Portland, ME and Sandy Connors of South Portland, ME.  He was the friend and companion for more than 30 years to the late Barbara Kreckie and the special uncle to Shawn Kreckie of Quincy, Lauren Brooks of Monument, CO and Matthew Kreckie of Pembroke.  He was the great uncle to eleven. 

Jimmy was a teacher at Boston College High School retiring in the fall of 2014 after 38 years.  He taught Chemistry, Biology, and Mathematics, and had served as the Science Department Chair. In addition to teaching, Jim had a love of music, theater and traveling.  Jim traveled with many friends and family including his sister Cathy, Barbara Kreckie and lifelong friend Robert Donovan. 

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the visiting hours on Friday, March 11, 2016 from 4-8 PM at the Keohane Funeral Home, 785 Hancock St., Quincy. A funeral Mass will be celebrated in the Cadigan Hall at Boston College High School, 150 William T. Morrissey Blvd., Dorchester, on Saturday, March 12, 2016 at 9:30 AM.  Burial in New Calvary Cemetery, Boston.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Sheila Gailius Scholarship Fund, Boston College High School, 150 William T. Morrissey Blvd. Dorchester, MA 02125 in memory of James H. Connors.
