Taylor, James F. Jr. “Jim” of Hingham, passed away January 18, 2024.
Jim was predeceased by his parents James Taylor and Barbara Dunn Taylor and his brother Michael E. Taylor, all of Hingham. Jim is survived by his wife Joanne (Kessinger) Taylor of Hingham and his three children Jennifer Henderson and her husband William of Scituate, Christopher J. Taylor and Michael J. Taylor of Hingham. He is also survived by his “little sweethearts” Abigail and James Henderson.
Born with beautiful blue eyes on Mother’s Day, Jim was always known as his “mother’s best gift”. Jim was dedicated to his family and his Catholic faith and was an active participant at St. Paul’s Church in Hingham throughout his life. Jim served in the US Air Force and when he returned home, he worked at the General Service Administration in Hingham. He then joined the Hingham Police Department, retiring as Lieutenant. Jim loved his family, faith, and the Hingham community. His family would like to express their gratitude to the Brigham and Women’s surgical and nursing team, especially Dr. Joel Goldberg, and special thanks to Dr. Thomas O’Connor and his team at Dana Farber for all of their support and exceptional care.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to greet the family during the visiting hours on Wednesday 4-8 PM in the Pyne Keohane Funeral Home, 21 Emerald St. (off Central St.), HINGHAM. A Celebration of Life Service will be held in the funeral home at 9 AM on Thursday prior to the Funeral Mass in St. Paul’s Church, Hingham at 10 AM. Burial in St. Paul’s Cemetery, Hingham. In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Jim may be made to St. Paul’s School, 18 Fearing Rd. Hingham, MA 02034 .
