James F. Broughton, Jr.

Broughton, James F. Jr., age 53, of Quincy, formerly Dorchester, after an incredibly hard fought battle with cancer. Jim died peacefully at home September 9, surrounded by those who loved him most.  

Bereaved by his best friend and wife of 24 years, Lori (McKinnon) Broughton.  Adored father of Amanda and Seamus Broughton of Quincy and his beloved Spaniel, Dempsey.  Cherished brother of Ann and her husband Mike Fennell of Easton; Kathy and her husband Jack Clark of Hanson; Maureen of E. Bridgewater; Mary and her husband Ed O’Hara of Hanover and Kevin Broughton of Quincy. Loving son of the late James and Ann Broughton.  Loving son in law of Frances and the late Jake McKinnon. Jim also leaves behind his beloved in-laws, many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and many cherished friends. 

Jim was always happiest enjoying a good meal, golfing with his buddies or at home surrounded by his family watching, reading and writing about the boxing legends who were his inspiration. No one ever fought harder. He leaves us all heartbroken, but with many, many memories of our beloved Jim, especially his ability to leave everyone laughing. Jim lived simply, loved deeply and laughed often.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the visiting hours on Friday 4-8 PM in the Keohane Funeral Home, 785 Hancock St., QUINCY. A Celebration of Life Service will be held in the funeral home at 8 AM on Saturday prior to the Funeral Mass in St. Ann’s Church, Quincy at 9 AM. Burial in Cedar Grove Cemetery, Boston.
