James F. “Jim” Baldwin of Quincy, died September 30, 2021.
The beloved husband of 54 years to Elizabeth (Richards) Baldwin of Quincy. Loving father of Cheryl Shaw and her husband Ted of Norwell, Robert Baldwin and his wife Lisa of Barnstead, NH and Lori Murphy and her husband Matthew of Hanover. Son of the late Mary (Dolan) Baldwin. Brother of the late Ellen Anderson and Kathleen Drennan. Cherished Grandfather of Emme Shaw, Adeline,Ruby and Cullen Murphy. Jim is also survived by many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Jim was born and raised in North Quincy where he graduated from North Quincy High School. He was president of his class, played numerous sports, and was later inducted into the North Quincy Basketball and Football Hall of Fame. He went on to Northeastern University where he got his bachelor’s degree. He pursued his career as a beloved educator and wrestling coach at Milton High School for over 35 years. He was inspired by and inspired many young lives. For many years he enjoyed his summers working at Cunningham Park in Milton. His favorite pastimes were boating, fishing, and lobstering with his dear friends. Jim and Betty loved square dancing and belonged to the Lofty Squares. A devoted husband, son, father, brother, grandfather, and friend, Jim will be greatly missed by all those who were blessed to know him.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to greet the family during the visiting hours on Thursday 4-8 PM in the Keohane Funeral Home, 785 Hancock St., QUINCY. Funeral service will be celebrated on Friday at 10am in Hough’s Neck Congregational Church, 310 Manet Ave., Quincy. Burial in Fairmount Cemetery, Weymouth .
