James E. Morrison

Morrison, James E. of Weymouth, formerly of Rumford, ME, passed away October 8, 2016 surrounded by his loving family.

James was born in Rumford, ME and moved to Weymouth when he was 12. He proudly served in the United States Army Air Corps during WWII. In 1950, he graduated from Boston University and met his beloved wife Dorothy of 64 years. James adored his family and loved spending time with them. He enjoyed traveling to North Conway, New Hampshire and Bar Harbor, Maine whenever he could. One of his favorite things to do when his grandchildren were young was visiting Disney World. He was famous for his “Bumpy’s Spaghetti” which he would make for all occasions and was a family favorite. He was a member of the Weymouth Elks and well known at Denley Gardens, where he went regularly from when he was 17 up until his 90th birthday. James enjoyed playing baseball with his son when he was younger and watching the Red Sox. He had a great sense of humor and a quick wit. He was a quiet and happy man who when asked how he was doing, always answered with “terrific”, even towards the end. James will be greatly missed by all who knew him.

Beloved husband of 64 years to Dorothy (White) Morrison of Weymouth. Loving father of Jim Morrison and his wife Cindy of Weymouth. Cherished “Bumpy” of Jamie Mitchell and her husband Ryan of Abington and Tom Morrison of Weymouth. Predeceased by 7 siblings. Also survived by many nieces and nephews.
