James E. “Jim” Lonergan

James E. “Jim” Lonergan of Weymouth, died August 2, 2013 at the age of 59. Jim grew up in Squantum, graduating from North Quincy High School Class of 1972, where he was affectionately know by some friends as “Ralph.” He later attended Wentworth Institute and has lived in Weymouth for over 25 years. He worked in research and development as an electronic technician for Polaroid for roughly 20 years. Jim was a member of the Moose Lodge in Braintree. In his early years he enjoyed horseback riding and his love for animals has continued throughout his life, especially his 2 most recent Basset Hounds Allie and Hailey. Jim could often be found golfing, traveling to Cape Cod or Aruba with friends and family or watching the history channel on tv. He is remembered as a kind and special person who is loved by many. 

Beloved husband of 26 years to Irene V. (Leahy) Lonergan of Weymouth. Cherished son of the late John and Mary Lonergan. Loving brother of Pat Cady and his wife Ann Marie of Raynham, Mike Lonergan of Florida and John Lonergan and his wife Erin of FL. Brother-in-law of Barbara and Allan Fuller of FL, Jean Leahy and Carol Gunzy of Bourne, the late Marie St. Gelais and her husband Richard of Westford, John Leahy and the late wife Eva of Townsend and Judy Leahy and Sonya Kamdar of ME. Dear friend of Gus and Judy Palaza of Quincy. Also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the visiting hours on Wednesday 4-8 PM in the McDonald Keohane Funeral Home SOUTH WEYMOUTH at 809 Main Street (Rte 18 opp. So. Shore Hospital)  Relatives and friends will gather in the funeral home at 8:30 AM Thursday prior to the Funeral Mass in Sacred Heart Church, Weymouth at 9:30 AM. Burial in Village Cemetery, Weymouth.
