James D. Adams

Mr. James D. “Dave” Adams, of Kingston (and long-time resident of Holbrook), died May 9, 2020.

Beloved husband of Joan M (Hager) Adams. Son of the late James Adams and Bessie (Hayes) Oldham.  Loving father of Jay Adams and his wife, Linda, of Walpole, Joseph Adams and his wife, Suzanne, of Marshfield, and Julie Umano and her husband, Joseph, of Weymouth. Brother in law of Linda Hager of Plymouth. Grandfather of Jimmy, Johnny, Julia, Jacqueline, Joseph, Hannah, Mike, Brian, and Dylan.

Dave served four years in the United States Air Force. He later joined and retired from the US Postal Service. He was a past President of Holbrook Little League and a member of the American Legion.  Dave was a kind, simple man who cherished being with his family. He always went with the flow. He loved to vacation, and for many years drove to Sanibel Island in Florida for a winter getaway.  Dave enjoyed his morning walks along the Plymouth waterfront. He was an avid sports fan, and attended just about every one of his kids’ and grandkids’ sporting events and recitals over the past 50 years.  In 1956, he attended the Celtics first championship at the Old Boston Garden. Dave was a big reader his entire life, which translated into him being very hard to beat watching Jeopardy every night.

Normally, the funeral is an opportunity for the community to gather in support of one another. Although we cannot gather together with James’s family at this time, friends may still offer their support by sharing a special memory or message by clicking the link above.
