James A. Mcguinness, Jr.

McGuinness, James A. Jr. of North Quincy, passed away May 18, 2011. The beloved husband of 48 years to Mildred “Pat” ( Stonerock) McGuinness. Loving father of Patricia MacLeod of Florida, Edward McGuinness and his wife Anna of Bangor, ME, and Bruce McGuinness and his wife Peggy of Oakdale, CT. Stepson of the late Michael Paddie. James is also survived by 12 grandchildren and many great grandchildren. James was a proud United States Marine during the Korean War. He was a member of the American Legion Post # 114 . A life member of the Disabled American Veterans as well as a member of the U.S.S. Missouri Association. Mr. McGuinness was a plank owner/charter member of the United States Seagoing Marine Association, Inc. He worked for Massachusetts Engineering for many years. After his retirement,he began working at the President’s Golf Course in Quincy. A. World War II history buff, Jim also enjoyed target shooting. Just recently, he found comfort in scripture readings. He was most happy when surrounded by his family and friends. He truly enjoyed spending time with his children and grandchildren. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the visiting hours on Sunday 4-7 PM in the Keohane Funeral Home, 785 Hancock St., QUINCY. A Celebration of Life Service will be held in the funeral home at 9:15 AM on Monday prior to the Funeral Mass in Sacred Heart Church, Quincy at 10 AM. Burial in Blue Hill Cemetery, Braintree.
