James A. Donovan

Donovan, James A. of Weymouth, died September 8, 2014 at the age of 87.

Jim served in the U.S. Army during WWII, stationed at Adak in the Aleutian Islands. He worked as a firefighter for the City of Quincy for many years, retiring in 1992. He was an avid history buff, especially the Civil War.

Beloved husband of Beverly A. (Pierce) Donovan. Loving father of Susan Donovan of Weymouth, Kathleen Marchese, Marcia Merten, Janice Donovan, all of Hanover, and Judith Donovan of Kingston. Stepfather of Bonnie Turcotte of NH and Kim Reyno of Rockland. Brother of Kenneth Donovan of Quincy. Also survived by 10 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the visiting hours on Wednesday 4-8 PM in the McDonald Keohane Funeral Home SOUTH WEYMOUTH at 809 Main Street (Rte 18 opp. So. Shore Hospital). Funeral service will be celebrated on Thursday at 10:30 AM in the funeral home. Burial in Holyhood Cemetery, Chestnut Hill.
