Craig, James A. of East Bridgewater, formerly of Quincy. A retired Boston Police Officer died on February 5 after a long, tough fight; he was 67 years old. The beloved husband of Laurie (Heap) Craig. Loving son of Eleanor (Noonan) Craig of Brighton and the late James A. Craig, Sr. Cherished father of James A. Craig, III of Quincy, Steven M. Craig of New York, Ryan C. Craig and his wife Meredith of Quincy, Shannon C. Horning of North Carolina and Brendan J. Craig of New York. Brother of Raymond Noonan and his wife Ann of Minnesota. Grandfather of Sean, Colm, Kelcey, Caleb, Kade, Matthew, Katelyn, Carson and Brady. Jim grew up in Brighton, he served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. After his military duties, Jim began his career as a police officer with the Boston Police Department, where he worked for 17 years retiring back in 1986. While on the police force he was assigned to the mounted unit. Jim was an avid reader, who enjoyed cooking and football. He had a passion for western movies and novels. A longtime member of the NRA, VFW and the American Legion Post. Jim had a tough exterior but inside beat an incredible, warm and caring heart. He was devoted to his family and proud of their accomplishments. Jim will be sadly missed by all those who knew him. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the visiting hours on Wednesday from 5-9pm in the Keohane Funeral Home, 785 Hancock Street, QUINCY. A Celebration of Life Service will be held in the funeral home at 9:15AM on Thursday, prior to the Funeral Mass in St. Ann’s Church, 757 Hancock Street, Quincy at 10 AM. Burial in Massachusetts National Cemetery, Bourne. In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Jim may be made to Paralyzed Veterans of America, 801 Eighteen St. NW Washington DC, 20006-3517 .
