Jack Meehan

Meehan, Jack (John) of Marshfield, died on December 8, 2020 after a long-term illness. He was surrounded by his loved ones at the time of his passing.

Jack was a man who made his presence known when he walked into a room, with his bright blue eyes, warm smile and unforgettable laugh. He beamed with love and pride when his family was around. He especially loved to tell stories and truly appreciated his own sense of humor. 

Jack took great pride in the home he and his wife built, dedicating countless hours tending to their beautiful flower gardens and impressive lawn.  He was an avid and skilled golfer, and enjoyed playing as often as he could. Jack had a deep passion for music, listening to all genres. His joy in life was spending time with those he loved. He especially cherished family trips to The Cape House, and his gatherings with the “card guys”.

He will be remembered for his talent to make people laugh, his vast collection of beach rocks, and his ability to talk to anyone, anywhere. Jack will be greatly missed by all those who had the pleasure of knowing him. His absence leaves a hole in his family that will never be filled. 

Jack was the beloved husband of 43 years to Marina (Federico) Meehan of Marshfield. Devoted father of Nicole Russell and her husband John, and Marina McDougall and her husband Michael, all of Marshfield. Proud Papa of Cameron Russell, Leo McDougall and Flynn McDougall, all of Marshfield. Son of the late Warren Meehan Sr. and Margaret Meehan-Doyle.  Loving brother of Warren Meehan and his wife Joan of Marshfield, Bob Meehan and his wife Maureen of Scituate, Jim Meehan and his companion Lisa of Marshfield, and the late Michael Meehan. Brother-in-law to Julie Federico and her husband Jay Mitchell of Naperville, IL and Lisa Considine and her husband Jim of San Francisco.  He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, extended family and dear friends.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the walk-through visitation on Saturday, December 19, 2020 from 8:30-10:30AM in the Keohane Funeral Home, 785 Hancock St., Quincy. A Funeral Mass will follow in Sacred Heart Church, Quincy at 11AM.

In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Jack may be made to the Marshfield Food Pantry, P.O. Box 1097, Marshfield, MA 02050

Normally, the funeral is an opportunity for the community to gather in support of one another. Although some may not be able to gather together with Jack’s family at this time, friends may still offer their support by sharing a special memory or message.
