Jack L. Gantley, of Weymouth, died April 2, 2013 at the age of 91. 

Jack grew up in Houghs Neck and has lived in Weymouth for the last 34 years. He prouldly served in the U.S. Navy during WWII. He worked as a customs inspector at Logan Airport for 44 years. He was an avid sports fan and enjoyed the active role he played in his childrens’ activities over the years. He could often be found painting, working in his yard and enjoying the outdoors. He will be sadly missed.

Beloved husband of Elizabeth M. (Mounsey) Gantley of Weymouth. Jack was the devoted father of Robert Gantley and his wife Julie of FL, the late Captain John E. “Jackie” Gantley and his wife Michelle and step-daughter Kim O’Connell and her husband Daniel of Scituate. Cherished “Grandpa Jack” of 5 grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild. Loving brother of the late Frank and Walter Gantley. Also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Services are private. Donations in memory of Jack may be made to the Alzheimers Assn., MA Chapter, 480 Pleasant Street, Watertown, MA 02472.
