Roche, J. Robert of Quincy raised in Dorchester. January 14, 2002. Darling husband of Lois M. (Richards) of Quincy. Most beloved father of Marianne “Mimi” Balsamo and her husband Sal of Hingham, Cynthia Roche-Cotter and her husband Mike of Quincy, Nancy K. San Antonio and her husband Michael of ME and J. Robert “Robbie” Roche, Jr. and his wife Kathleen of Quincy. Cherished brother of John R., Clara L. Hewes, Eugene H.; all of CA and the late Peter T. Roche. Proud grandfather of Joseph P. Cotter, Zoe C. Frechette, Christopher R. Balsamo and Micah A. San Antonio. Nephew of Catherine Aalto of Quincy and Margaret C. Johnson of CA. Brother in law of Rosemary G. Higginson of Quincy and her daughter Beverly Joyce. Also survived by many nieces and nephews. Robert was a master of all trades. He was trained as a cabinet maker. Some of his many interests include fishing, gardening, bird watching and the enviroment. Robert was considered a raconteur by his many close friends. He was a true American and Patriot; proud of his country and his flag.Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the funeral from the Keohane Funeral Home 785 Hancock St. , WOLLASTON Monday at 9:15 AM. Funeral Mass in Most Blessed Sacrament Church, Hough’s Neck at 10 AM. Visiting hours Sunday 4-8 PM. Cremation will follow.
