Isabel W. Donehue

Donehue, Isabel W. (Friel) of Quincy, passed away December 30, 2012. Beloved wife of the late John Donehue. Loving mother of John Donehue and his wife Juliana of Scituate. Cherished grandmother of Donna Sommerich of Norton, Christine Cappabianca of Scituate, Cathleen Donehue of Weymouth, and 3 great grandchildren. Sister of the late Grace Friel, Eric Friel, Frederick Friel and Jack Friel. Aunt of Marilyn Dunlap of FL and great aunt of Janet Martin, Karyn Frank, and Kevin Sebastian. Isabel’s passion in life was being a caretaker. She, her mother and her sister started the Friel Nursing Home in Quincy in 1944 and operated it until 1980, later selling the business in 1996. Isabel also enjoyed spending time at her condo in North Conway, NH. She was devoted to her family, loved animals, had a wonderful sense of humor and a very independent spirit. She will be missed by all those who had the pleasure of knowing her. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the visiting hours on Wednesday from 4-7 PM in the Keohane Funeral Home, 785 Hancock St., QUINCY. A funeral service will be celebrated on Thursday at 10:30 AM in Keohane Funeral Home, Quincy. Burial in Mt. Wollaston Cemetery, Quincy. Donations in memory of Isabel may be made to the Quincy Animal Shelter, PO Box 690088, Quincy, MA 02269.
