Isabel F. Armstrong

Armstrong, Isabel F. (Thureson) of Weymouth, formerly of Quincy, died in her home on October 13, 2014, surrounded by her family. She was 79. 

The beloved wife of the late Richard L. Armstrong, Sr. Loving mother of  Richard L. Armstrong, Jr.  and his wife Molly Meyers of Hingham and Douglas Armstrong and his wife Jennifer of Weymouth. Sister of  Nils Thureson, Jr. and his wife Joan of Braintree, Nancy Glueck of Boston, Malcolm Thureson and his wife Joni of Hanover, Carol Stafford and her husband Jack of East Greenwich, RI and Lorraine Shoap and her husband Steve of Wakefield. Cherished Grammy of Lauren, Ethan and Annabel Armstrong. Isabel is also survived by many nieces and nephews. Raised in Dorchester, Isabel was a member of St. Margaret’s Parish. She attended Monsignor Ryan Memorial High School and Boston State Teachers College. A longtime Quincy resident, she just recently moved to Weymouth. Isabel will be remembered for her unending generosity, faith and optimism. 

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the visiting hours on Thursday 4-8 PM in the Pyne Keohane Funeral Home, 21 Emerald St. (off Central St.), HINGHAM. A Celebration of Life Service will be held in the funeral home at 9:15 AM on Friday prior to the Funeral Mass in St. Mary’s Church, Quincy at 10 AM. Burial will be private.
