Irving A. Rachstein

Rachstein, Irving A. of Hingham, died suddenly, after a brief illness on February 17, 2017.

Irving’s family brought him great joy and he was especially proud of his son Anthony.  He was an amazing father and shared wonderful memories with his son, many of which occurred on their family vacations.  Irving loved his Boston sports teams but had a special place in his heart for the Patriots and Red Sox.  He was brilliant in many ways and his current events knowledge was unmatched.  Irving served in the National Guard and was a graduate of W. Michigan University and Harvard Law School.  Irving spent many years as a real estate attorney and retired as an corporate attorney with Stop & Shop Supermarkets.  He was generous with his time and money and assisted many wonderful causes.  As an avid traveler, he experienced the world and also took to the road on his motorcycle.  Irving will be remembered for his sense of humor, quick wit, fabulous culinary skills, intelligence, and wonderful laugh.

Beloved husband of the late Rachel (Dluzneiski) Rachstein.  Loving father of Anthony LeClerc of Hingham.  Brother in law of Robert Dluzneiski and his wife Pamela.  Uncle of Joshua and Brittany Dluzneiski.  Cousin of Linda Johnson, Deborah Carella, Patricia Albritton, Jane Carnell, Peter Zielinski, Lorna Borden, and Thomas Zielinski.  Also survived by his faithful dog Freddy.
