Irma Vinciguerra

Irma (Dolci) Vinciguerra passed away peacefully on May 30th after a brief illness at the age of 95. She was the daughter of the late Andrea and Valentina (Roncalli). She was the sister of the late Valentino and Guirino Dolci and Jenny Cararra Costello, Rita Quilty, and Esther Zanga. Cherished wife of 65 years to the late Ralph Vinciguerra. Irma is survived by her two sons, Thomas and his wife Karen of Weymouth and Robert and his wife Ellen and their children Katelyn and Daniel all of Sandwich as well as many beloved nieces and nephews.

 Irma was born in Dorchester and educated at Girls’ Latin School. Irma and Ralph made their home in Canton for 50 years where they loved raising their family to whom they were devoted. In 2002 they made their home in Weymouth. Over the years, Irma was a member of the Catholic Ladies’ Sodality and the Canton Women’s Italian Club. Irma worked in the food services department in the Canton school system for many years. After she retired she continued working at Frugal Fanny’s where she was able to stay abreast of the latest fashion trends. In her 80s she volunteered at South Shore Hospital where she continued to make a difference to the people around her.

 Irma was proud of her Italian heritage and was a master in the kitchen. She was a devout Catholic and was proudly related to Angelo Roncalli, Pope John XXIII. Relatives and friends are invited to attend the visiting hours on Thursday, 4-8 pm in the McDonald Keohane Funeral Home SOUTH WEYMOUTH at 809 Main Street (Rte 18 opp. So. Shore Hospital). On Friday, a celebration of life service will be held at 10:15 am at the funeral home. A funeral mass will follow at 11 am in St. Francis Xavier Church, Weymouth. Burial will be at Mt.
