Crowley, Iris L., R.N. (Lang) of North Quincy, March 1, 2005. The Beloved wife of the late T. Edmund Crowley. Loving Mother of Julia Brayboy and her husband Robert of Boston, Edmund Crowley and his wife Robin of Hingham and Lisa Machum and her husband Francis of Quincy. Sister of Patricia Stearns of FL and the late Ruth Fitzgerald , Gerard, Edward and Lawrence Lang. Iris is also survived by 6 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild and many nieces and nephews. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the funeral from the Keohane Funeral Home 785 Hancock St. , WOLLASTON Saturday at 10 AM. Funeral Mass in Sacred Heart Church, No. Quincy at 11 AM. Visiting hours Friday 4-8 PM . Burial in Pine Hill Cemetery, Quincy. Iris was a 15 year Army /Airforce veteran. Iris grew up in Brookline, Brighton and Allston. She graduated from Boston City Hospital School of Nursing Class of 1943, upon her graduation she entered into the United States Army as a reg. nurse . She was in active duty from 1943 until 1951 and her top rank was captain. She then enlisted into the Army/Airforce reserves from 1951 until 1958. After leaving the service ahe went to work at Boston City Hospital and worked as a reg. nurse in the ICU unit and then Surgical and OR. She retired in 1982 from Boston City Hospital -but continued her training and held her nursing license to this day. She has been a registered nurse for more than 60 years. Iris has been a resident of North Quincy for 49 years. She was an active member of the Sacred Heart Parish in North Quincy. She loved to spend her summers in York Maine.
