Jeffery, Irene May (Ferris) “Renie” of Quincy, died February 28, 2023.
Renie was born in Bath, ME, and moved to Boston after graduating from Morse High School. She settled in Quincy, MA, where she brought up her family. She adored her family. She loved to travel all over the country and often went on cruises with her husband. Her faith was very important to her. She was an active member and volunteer at the Quincy Community United Methodist Church. She would run craft and holiday fairs. She greatly enjoyed participating in the annual Harry Potter event dressed as Professor Sprout. Renie was an extremely hard worker all of her life. She retired from State Street Bank in North Quincy. During her retirement, she worked at Dunkin Donuts located in the Stop and Shop Supermarket in North Quincy. Her most important job was being a mother and taking care of her family. She was a thoughtful, considerate, and selfless woman who always put others first and had a quick wit. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
Predeceased by her father Edward Ferris and mother Eleanor (Pye) Ferris, her sisters Marion Thibeault, Joanne Tanguay, and Louise Ferris. Beloved wife of the late Charles F. Jeffery. Loving mother of Charles E. Jeffery and his partner Margaret Lee of Whitman, Philip Jeffery of Melbourne, FL, Robert Jeffery and his wife Debra of Ft. Myers, FL, Daniel Jeffery of Melbourne, FL, Donald Jeffery and his wife Susan of Hanson, Deborah Marini and her husband William of Holmes Beach, FL, and Brian Jeffery of Quincy. Cherished sister of Marjorie Back of Hooksett, NH, Edward Ferris of Manchester, NH, and Barbara Breuer of Pensacola, FL. Also survived by 12 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to greet the family during visiting hours on Sunday 2-4 PM in the Keohane Funeral Home, 785 Hancock St., Quincy. A funeral home service will be celebrated on Monday at 11 AM in Keohane Funeral Home, Quincy. Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers, donations in Renie’s name may be made to Quincy Community United Methodist Church, 40 Beale St., Quincy, MA 02170.
