Irene F. Sullivan

Irene F. Sullivan of Hingham passed away peacefully, surrounded by family on  Monday, May 30, 2022. She was 93. 

Irene was the daughter of Margaret Butler Heaver and she was raised in  Weymouth, MA. She graduated from Weymouth High School and took classes at  Boston University. Irene worked for many years in the Accounting Office for the  Town of Weymouth, retiring as the Assistant Treasurer. 

Among Irene’s many interests: she was an avid reader; gardened around her home;  and she enjoyed talk radio. She also loved to travel with her husband, John  Sullivan. They especially enjoyed traveling throughout the New England area.  

Family was everything to Irene… and she was everyone’s favorite aunt. Her  kindness, soft-spoken wisdom, and sweet disposition provided a calming presence  — she will be missed all. 

Beloved wife of the late John L. Sullivan. Irene is survived by her sister, Margaret  Leone of Weymouth. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews. Irene is  predeceased by her siblings: Claire Coté and Janet Callaway. 

Relatives and friends are invited to greet the family during the visiting hours on  Tuesday June 6, 2022 from 9-11am at the Resurrection Church in Hingham, MA.  

Following the visiting hours, an 11am Funeral Mass will be held at the Church.  Burial in Fairmount Cemetery, Weymouth.
