Irene F. Mcpherson

McPherson, Irene F. of Marshfield, left us too early at the age of 69 on June 15, 2015.

Daughter of the late Richard Murray and Irene Abruzzesse, Irene is survived by her loving husband Mark McPherson; her three daughters, Traci Maggard and husband James Gregory , Nanci Lloyd and Lori McPherson; three grandchildren, Dean Kurciviez, Mark Thomas Yourell and Chloe Edith Yourell; five siblings, Linda Gage, Susan Fitzgerald, Christine Berry, Richard Murray and Mary Olsen; Uncle Fred Dorgan and many nieces and nephews.

Irene grew up in Weymouth and graduated from Boston Trade School where she earned her hairdressing license. Irene was the consummate business woman who built a thriving beauty salon through challenging economic times and in spite of ever-increasing competition. She recently retired selling her namesake business, I Design Hair Company, so she could spend more time with her husband pursuing their many interests. Irene was committed to her family and provided tireless support and love. She loved to travel and explore foreign countries, but most of all she relished her annual vacation to St. Maarten. She was a gourmet cook who enjoyed hosting dinner parties and lovingly opened her home every holiday, making each event special for the people she loved most.

Irene will be remembered for her generous, kind, loyal, fun-loving spirit and for living every moment to its fullest. She always went after whatever she wanted and encouraged those she loved to do the same. Our lives are better for having known Irene and she will be missed every day.

Visiting hours will be at McDonald Funeral Home, 809 Main Street, South Weymouth, Monday, June 22, from 4 – 8 PM.  A funeral mass will be held on Tuesday, June 23, at 11:00 AM at St. Francis Xavier, 234 Pleasant Street, South Weymouth.
