Irene F. Lommano

Lomanno, Irene F. (Peak) of Quincy, died August 2, 2014. 

Wife of the late Francis Lomanno.  Beloved mother of Theresa Gaffney of Weymouth, Michael Lomanno  and Jacquelin Sorensen of Quincy and Catherine Cooper and her husband Christopher of Quincy.  Devoted sister of Philip “Gerry” Peak of Marshfield, David Peak of So. Weymouth, Catherine Lucas of Wayland, James Peak of Hingham and Julie DePersis of Newburyport.  Cherished grandmother of the “Elite 8” Gregory and Emily Gaffney, Michael and Eric Lomanno, Justine Lomanno, Nathan, Jason and  Nicholas Cooper all of Quincy. Irene is also lovingly survived by many nieces, nephews, grandnieces & nephews. Longtime dear friend of Doreen Burke of Quincy.

Irene was a lifelong resident of Quincy.  She was a graduate of Quincy High School. Irene worked for Stop & Shop/ Ahold for over 15 years before retiring in 2003.  She enjoyed over 40 years of camping with her family at Ellis Haven and was an avid Red Sox fan.  Most of all Irene loved her family especially her grandchildren who were the cornerstone of her life.  She will be missed by all who had the pleasure to have known her.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the visiting hours on Thursday 4-8 PM in the Keohane Funeral Home, 785 Hancock St., QUINCY. A Celebration of Life Service will be held in the funeral home at 9:15 AM on Friday prior to the Funeral Mass in St. Joseph’s Church, Quincy at 10 AM. Burial in Mt. Wollaston Cemetery, Quincy.
