Iola “Lee” (Evans) Slattery, of Hingham, died peacefully on Monday, April 19, 2021. She was 86.
Born in Boston on February 17, 1935, she was the daughter to the late Florence B. and Charles H. Evans, raised in Hyde Park and then Milton, where she lived through adulthood. Lee established a 40-year career in the dental industry where she not only enjoyed her work but also the relationships she developed throughout the years. Lee cherished her time alongside family and friends, from the lakes of New Hampshire, to the sands of Wessagusset, to the shores of Florida. She made family a priority; she was present, available and created a foundation of love. Lee was a truly selfless and generous woman, always arriving bearing gifts. She effortlessly handled herself with dignity and grace.
Lee was the beloved wife of 50 years to William “Bill” Slattery of Hingham. Devoted mother of Christopher Slattery and his wife Cara, of Braintree. Cherished Grammy of Siobhan and Finnegan. Loved stepmother of James Slattery and his wife Carol of Dedham, Melissa Slattery and her wife Carolyn of Shirley, and Scott Slattery and his wife Mary of Uxbridge. Admired Grandma Lee of Mason, Francesca, Sean, Julia, and Great Grandma Lee of Julian. Adored sister of David H. Evans of Grove, OK, Stephen Evans of North Port, FL, and Diane Evans Mahoney of Milton. Lee is also survived by many nieces and nephews and will be dearly missed by all who knew her.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the visiting hours on Thursday, April 22, from 10-11:30 am in the Pyne Keohane Funeral Home, 21 Emerald St. (off Central St.), HINGHAM.
