Eikinas, Ingrid, 38, of Hingham, died on April 24th after a lengthy battle with Inflammatory Breast Cancer. Wife of Todd Eikinas of Hingham, mother of Riley, 10, Madeline, 7, sister of Chris Shull of Chapel Hill, North Carolina, daughter of Diane Shull of Hingham and Bruce Shull of Fort Lauderdale, Florida. Friends and family are welcome to pay their respects at Pyne Keohane Funeral Home, 21 Emerald St. (off Central St.), HINGHAM,Thursday, April 28th between the hours of 4:00 and 8:00 pm. Ingrid was born in Commack, NY and grew up in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. After being chosen to participate in the Dwight D. Eisenhower ‘People to People’ program during her junior year of high school, Ingrid studied International Protocol at the U.S. State House and met with local dignitaries while traveling to Greece, Austria, and Italy. Upon graduating from high school, she was awarded ‘National Association of Letter Carriers’ scholarship for studies in English. Ingrid graduated cum laude from Stetson University in 1994 with a bachelor’s degree in English. She was awarded a full teaching scholarship from from Northeastern University and received her Masters degree in English in 1996 with distinction. Ingrid worked as a Vice President at State Street in the Global Technology Services division, where Comp World identified her as as an “up and coming woman in technology” early in her career. The family would like thank the management at State Street for there support of Ingrid during her battle with cancer. Ingrid was dedicated to autistic awareness and improving rights for blind and disabled children. Her hobbies included, poetry, scuba diving, rock climbing, yoga, reading and spending time with her family. There will be a private burial on Friday followed by a memorial luncheon at 12:00 noon at the South Shore Country Club in Hingham.
