Ignatius Sunday Ohai

Ignatius Sunday Ohai died on Sunday January 16, 2022. He was 73 years old. 

He was born August 3 1948 to Okeleke Adazie Ohai and Maria Ohai (Ofili) in Ogwashi-uku Delta state, Nigeria. As a young man, he left Ogwashi- uku and moved to Kano to live with his uncle. He got trained as an accountant and worked at KLM Airlines until he retired in 2003. 

Ignatius later moved to his birthplace Ogwashi-uku where he lived with his wife Bridget until 2019 when they travelled to the United States to visit their daughter Abigail. They stayed back and helped with raising their two lovely grandkids Bassey Jr and Eliora and derived so much joy from spoiling them silly. The grandkids have fond memories of their grandpa and will sorely miss him.

Ignatius was the beloved husband of Bridget Ohai whom he was married to for 42 years. He was the father of Emmanuel Ohai and his wife Ebanehita, Abigail Ohai of Weymouth, Timothy Ohai and his wife Annabel, Amaka Tete and her husband Ali, Joyce Ohai-Alom and her husband Victor and Raphael Ohai.

He was also granddad to Bassey Jr, Eliora, Abigail, Ali Jr, Yusuf, Ifechi and Chizim and was a beloved Uncle to his nieces and nephews. 

Ignatius will be dearly missed. His amiable smile and the twinkle in his eyes will be sorely missed by his loved ones.

A funeral service will be held at Crossroads Worship Center at 241 Broad Street Weymouth at 2 PM on Friday, January 28, 2022. Services will conclude with interment at Fairmount Cemetery,  Weymouth.

There will be light refreshments at the fellowship hall at Crossroads Worship Center right after interment.

Facemasks are required to be worn by all guests who enter the church.
