Hugh “Pete” Quilty

Quilty, Hugh “Pete” of Quincy, formerly of Dorchester, passed away on April 7, 2009. Beloved husband of Kathleen “Vera” Quilty. Loving father of Mary Teresa, Claire and Conor, all of Quincy. Loving brother of Roger Quilty of TN, Janice Murphy of Raynham, Pat McLoughlin of Quincy and the late Dennis and Paul Quilty. Cherished grandfather of Cullen, Rhen and Nathan. Also survived by many nieces and nephews. Hugh attended both Stonehill College and Boston College. He worked in both the photographic equipment and financial services industries before his retirement. An active parishioner of St. Ann’s Church, he served as a Eucharistic minister and religious education teacher for over 30 years. In his retirement, he was also an alter server, literacy tutor, and hospital volunteer. He will be sadly missed by all who knew him. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend visiting hours SATURDAY, April 11th from 4-7 PM in the Keohane Funeral Home, 785 Hancock St., QUINCY. A Funeral Mass will be held at St. Ann’s Church, Quincy on MONDAY April 13th at 11 AM. Burial in Blue Hill Cemetery, Braintree. In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Pete may be made to the American Cancer Society, Central NE Region, 18 Tremont St., Suite 700, Boston, MA 02108.
