Howard C. Gordon

Gordon, Howard C. of Quincy, formerly of Dorchester, passed away January 19, 2013, surrounded by his loving family.

Beloved husband of the late Eleanor C. (Brinkert) Gordon. Loving father of Ellen M. Ward and her husband Joseph of Braintree, and the late Kathleen T. Gordon and Howard C. Gordon, Jr. Brother of Robert Gordon of Quincy and the late Henry Gordon, Jr. and James Gordon. Cherished Papa to Joseph F., Jr., Colleen and Matthew Ward. Also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Howard was proud of his Dorchester roots and relied on the valuable lessons he learned there throughout his life. He was most grateful for his family, especially the grandchildren, which gave him immense joy. A cable splicer by trade, Howard was a 60 year member of IBEW Local #103 in Boston. He enjoyed gardening, woodworking, bowling, crafts and traveling with his family. He was shy by nature but will always be remembered for his kind and humble ways. Even in the face of his medical issues he always maintained a positive and hopeful attitude.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the visiting hours on Wednesday 4-8 PM in the Keohane Funeral Home, 785 Hancock St., QUINCY.  A Celebration of Life Service will be held in the funeral home at 9:15 AM on Thursday prior to the Funeral Mass in St. Ann’s Church, Quincy at 10 AM.  Burial in Pine Hill Cemetery, Quincy.  Donations in memory of Howard may be made to Father Bill’s Place, Development Office, 422 Washington St., Quincy, MA 02169.
