Lynch, The Honorable, Neil L. of Hingham passed away October 1, 2014.
Judge Lynch was a 1952 Graduate of Harvard University and a 1957 graduate of Harvard Law School in Cambridge. He was a former Secretary-Treasurer for the Massport Authority from 1975-1976, and from 1979-1981 he was the Chief Legal Counsel to the Governor of Massachusetts, his excellency Edward J. King. Judge Lynch was an Associate Justice from 1981-2000 for the Supreme Judicial Court. He was a proud Korean War Veteran serving with the United States Air Force.
Beloved husband of Kathleen F. (Holleran) Lynch and the late Ann G. (Bradley) Lynch. Loving father of Michael B. Lynch of Bridgewater, Marian P. Lynch of Ft. Lauderdale, FL and the late Neil E. “Eddy” Lynch of Hanson. Father-in-law of Denise Lynch of Hanson. Stepfather of Tracey Turgeon and her husband, Marc, of Mansfield, and Holly LeBon and her husband, Michael, of Sharon. Brother of the late Joseph Lynch. Grandfather of Alana, Meghan, Michaelene, Brandon, Brittney, Bradley, Carolann, and Katelyn. Also survived by 3 great grandchildren.
Neil loved being surrounded by family and friends, being on his boat, traveling to warm and sunny destinations, cooking gourmet meals, chocolate and cordials. As an original season ticket holder of the New England Patriots, he loved going to the games, telling stories and jokes, laughing and was a voracious reader of American History.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the visiting hours on Sunday from 3-7 PM in the McDonald Keohane Funeral Home SOUTH WEYMOUTH at 809 Main Street (Rte 18 opp. So. Shore Hospital) Relatives and friends will gather in the funeral home at 9 AM on Monday prior to the Funeral Mass in Church of the Resurrection, 1057 Main Street, Hingham at 10 AM. Burial will be private.
