Henry “Hank” B. Dever

 Dever, Henry  “Hank”  B. of Quincy, passed away Saturday, December 3rd, 2016.

Henry was a longtime resident of Quincy. He proudly served in World War II in the United States Army . After returning home from the war, he continued working for the Penn Central Railroad, a tenure that spanned from high school up until his retirement. Henry was a devoted husband to his late wife Bernice; he was by her side for over 50 years.  Henry’s true passion was for baseball – he was a long time Red Sox fan and over his lifetime amassed an impressive collection of baseball cards and memorabilia.  Throughout his lifetime he was a fixture at many local baseball card shows exhibiting his impressive collection. He also enjoyed gardening and his time as a volunteer at United First Parish Church and the John Adams and the John Quincy Adams houses. He was also a Knights of Columbus member. Henry will be sadly missed. 

Dear husband to the late Bernice (Martineau) Dever. Cherished brother to the late Mary (Dever) Fletcher and Mildred (Dever) Madden. Dear uncle to Barbara Eisnor of Avon, Maureen Erickson of Avon and Janet Madden of Dorchester. He was also a special uncle to many other nieces and nephews.  

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the celebration of life Wednesday, December 7th from 9:30-10:30 AM in the Keohane Funeral Home, 785 Hancock St., QUINCY followed by a funeral home service at 10:30 AM. Burial in Mt. Wollaston Cemetery, Quincy. In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Henry may be made to Red Sox Foundation, 4 Yawkey Way, Boston, MA, 02215 .
