Baker, Helen “Zoe” (Cook) of Quincy formerly of Dorchester, February 15, 2003. Wife of the late Douglas F. Baker. Mother of Marie R. DeVincentis of Weymouth, Beatice B. (Baker) Torney of Braintree, Douglas H. of CA and the late Barbara A. Daly. Sister of Gertrude Coveney of Brighton, Kay Silver of Stoneham, Janet Cohen of Boston, Jeanne Marshall of Framingham, Marie Smiles of Boston and the late Ernest, Kenneth and Gerald Cook. Also survived by 11 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the funeral from the Keohane Funeral Home 785 Hancock St. , WOLLASTON Thursday at 9:15 AM. Funeral Mass in Sacred Heart Church, N. Quincy at 10 AM. Visiting hours Wednesday 4-8 PM. Burial in Blue Hill Cemetery, Braintree.Helen worked part-time as a hostess at the Union Club on Park Street in Boston for 20 years. A graduate of St. Columbkille School in Brighton. She was an honorary member of the Neponset Yacht Club for over 50 years. Helen enjoyed sailing and danced at the Norembega Dance Hall in Newton. She was known for her positive attitude and her wisdom. Her family considers her a miracle for living as long as she did due to her heart condition and they attribute it to her attitude. Helen did things her way and was very independant. Donations in memory of Mrs. Baker may be made to MA Breast Cancer Coalition 51 Diauto Drive, Ste. B, Randolph, MA 02368.
