Helen (Simo) Tasselari

Tasselari, Helen (Simo) died peacefully on Wednesday February 12, 2014, surrounded by her loving family, she was 89.

She was the beloved wife of 66 years to Kalam “Harry” Tasselari, who pre-deceased her in 2011. Loving mother of her son Donnie Tasselari and his wife Mary of Plymouth and her sons Paul and John Tasselari both of Quincy. She leaves her loving grandsons Anthony and Matthew and their mother Diane all of Foxboro. Helen is also survived by many loving nieces, nephews and friends.

Born in Hudson, Mass, Helen was a member of St. George’s Orthodox Cathedral of South Boston. She was past President of the Daughters of St. George as well as past President of the Ladies Auxiliary VFW Post 613 and a proud secretary/treasurer of the ladies Auxiliary of Boston YDVA. She thoroughly enjoyed bingo, playing cards with friends and she loved crocheting afghans for family, friends and for charity. She had just completed her 87th afghan. Helen would drop what she was doing for a trip to the casino. She will be greatly missed by her loving family and by all those who were blessed to have known her.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the funeral from the Keohane Funeral Home, 785 Hancock Street, Quincy on Tuesday at 9am. Funeral service will follow on Tuesday at 10:30am in St. George’s Orthodox Cathedral, 523 East Broadway, South Boston. Visiting Hours will be held on Monday 4-8pm. Burial in Blue Hill Cemetery, Braintree.
