O’Connor, Helen M. (Leonard) 70, of West Dennis, passed away on January 10, 2017 peacefully in her sleep surrounded by her devoted and loving family.
Helen was born in Boston, MA on October 18, 1946. She graduated from Saint Gregory’s High School and continued on to become a Registered Nurse, a position she held proudly for over 40 years. Helen retired from the Boston Medical Center in 2010.
Beloved wife of 47 years to Michael J. O’Connor of West Dennis. Loving mother of Michael J. O’Connor, Jr. and his wife Kristyn of Canton, Richard J. O’Connor and his wife Christine of Canton and Mark R. O’Connor and his wife Margaret of Weymouth. Devoted Nana of Riley, Donovan, Ryan, Shawn, Drew, Aidan and Jack. Cherished daughter of the late Paul and Mary (McIntyre) Leonard. Caring sister of Paul K. Leonard, John S. Leonard and the late Robert F. Leonard, all of Quincy. Sister-In-Law of Mary Leonard and the late Donna and Norma Leonard, all of Quincy. Helen is also survived by many nieces, nephews and extended family.
Helen loved to travel with her husband and friends. When she wasn’t traveling you could find her at the beach with a book on her beloved Cape Cod. Her main passion in life was her family, especially her 7 grandchildren and spending time with those she loved. She will be sadly missed but never forgotten.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the visiting hours on Friday 4-8 PM in the Keohane Funeral Home, 785 Hancock St., QUINCY. A Celebration of Life Service will be held in the funeral home at 9:45 AM on Saturday prior to the Funeral Mass in St. Ann’s Church, Quincy at 10:30 AM. Burial in Blue Hill Cemetery, Braintree.
In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Helen may be made to Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation, P.O. Box 650309, Dallas, TX 75265.
