Helen Gustafson

Gustafson, Helen of Hingham February 14, 2005. Daughter of the late Jennie Blythe (Bell) and Edgar T. Gustafson. Sister of the late Edgar Berkeley Gustafson, Stanley Theodore Gustafson, and Donald Richard Gustafson. Loving aunt of Linda Rief of Durham, NH, Bonnie Mallon of Bridgton ME, Nancy Gustafson of So. Weymouth, and Donna Gustafson of New Orleans. Also lovingly survived by 7 grand nieces & nephews, 10 great grand nieces & nephews, and many friends. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the funeral from the Pyne Keohane Funeral Home, 21 Emerald St. (off Central St.), HINGHAM Friday at 9 AM. Funeral Mass in Saint Paul’s Church, Hingham at 10 AM. Visiting hours Thursday 4-8 PM. Burial in Cedar Grove Cemetery, Dorchester. Helen began her 45 year career with AT&T as an operator. Later she worked in union management and retired in the mid 1980’s as a manager in marketing. After retiring, she continued to volunteer for AT&T in marketing and trade shows. For 20 years, she volunteered with the Hingham Department of Elder Services and in 1999 received the Earl Dare Mabel Volunteer Award for her lifetime achievement of volunteerism in Hingham. During WWII, she served in the MA Women’s Defense Corps, where she earned the rank of Lieutenant.
