Miss Helen G. Boyajian of Wollaston MA passed away on 12th of October at 90 yrs of age. Survivors include her sister Ann Gross, brother in-law Alexis Gross, niece Dianne Gross of CA, nephew Stephen Gross of Boston, her dear companion Theresa Lento of Braintree, numerous cousins from Falmouth, Boxford, Duxbury, Fairport NY and Rhode Island. She was sister to the late Harlold S. Boyajian. Numerous members of the family were members of the military. Father Stephen Boyajian, was a member of the 73rd Infantry of the US Army serving in WWI. Her brother Harold, was in the Signal Corp. training in the U.S. Army where he became a casualty. Miss Boyajian herself served with her friend, Mrs. Benjamin Corey with the US Coast Guard for three and a half years in WWII. For years, her vocations were that of Social Worker and Psychotherapist. She was a graduate of the Boston University School of Social Work where she was decorated as an outstanding graduate. Her training as a physiotherapist helped her contribute the lives of many children through her work in NYC. For over 20 years Miss Boyajian was the branch librarian and developer of many social programs for children at the Houghs Neck branch of the Quincy Public Library. Her volunteer activities included work at MGH and the Cardinal Cushing School and Training Center; Board membership with the Protestant Social Service Bureau; BU Social Work Alumnae and her voluminous writing of newspaper articles, books and professional papers. For these efforts and humanitarian contributions, Miss Boyajian received many awards and citations from individuals, Councils, and agencies including the Mayor. Her life was characterized by the work ethic . Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend a funeral service on Wednesday, Oct. 19, 2011 at 12 Noon in Christ Episcopal Church, 12 Quincy, Ave, Quincy, MA. Burial will be private.
