Helen C. Oakes

Oakes, Helen C. (Minahan) R.N. of Quincy, died March 16, 2006 under loving care at John Adams Healthcare Center. Beloved wife of the late John P. Oakes. Loving mother of John D. Oakes & his wife Joy of Quincy and William F. Oakes & his wife Karin of Burlington. Sister of Mary “Sid” & her late husband Keith Cotter of Stoughton and Frances & her husband Bob O’Donnell of Hull. Devoted “Grammy” of Christopher J. Oakes. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the funeral from the Keohane Funeral Home, 785 Hancock St., WOLLASTON, Tuesday at 9 AM. Funeral Mass in Saint Mary’s Church, Quincy at 10 AM. Visiting hours Monday 4-8 PM. Burial in Pine Hill Cemetery, Quincy. Helen was born in South Boston. She graduated from Nazareth High School and St. Margaret’s Hospital School of Nursing in 1948 and worked at St. Margaret-Harley and Quincy Hospitals. She moved to Quincy in 1956.
