Harold Stanford (Stan) Rydell

Harold Stanford (Stan) Rydell, born December 6, 1937, died February 16, 2023 at 85 years, of natural causes. 

He earned a PHD in Geology at Florida State University, and studied at Oak Ridge National Laboratory with a focus on geology and radiation. Later, he joined the Environmental Protection Agency and became a Nuclear Chemist, specializing in natural radiation problems. While there, he also worked for the N.A.T.O. Counterterrorism Unit out of Salzburg, Austria. 

He is survived by his wife, Shirley Rydell, his brother Barry and sister in law Judy, niece Kathleen, nephew Keith, and five stepchildren, Kevin Carmody, Michael Carmody, Seana Carmody, Kerry Burke, and Ryan Spaulding.

A funeral home service will be celebrated on Friday at 11 AM in Pyne Keohane Funeral Home, Hingham.
