Harold P. Greene

Harold grew up on Greene’ s Point Tilting, Fogo Island, Newfoundland, Canada. He moved to Dorchester before settling in Weymouth 64 years ago. He proudly served in the U.S. Army during Korea. He worked for several years as a fisherman out of piers in Boston and New Bedford. Harold worked at General Dynamics Shipyard during the day and the U.S. Postal Service at night for over 20 years to support his family. He was a past member of the Weymouth VFW and Weymouth Elks and enjoyed reading, watching New England sports and vacationing in Naples, Maine.

Beloved husband of 65 years to the late Ann M. (Colbert) Greene, and devoted father of Patrick Greene and his wife Karen, Leo Greene, Gerard Greene and his wife Sally, Paul Greene and his wife Elizabeth and the late Catherine Greene, all of Weymouth. Cherished Grampa of nine grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild. Pre-deceased by twelve siblings and survived by many nieces and nephews. Harold will be greatly missed.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the visiting hours on Tuesday 4-7 PM in the McDonald Keohane Funeral Home in EAST WEYMOUTH at 3 Charles Street (corner of Charles & Middle Street).

Relatives and friends will gather in the funeral home at 9:30 AM on Wednesday prior to the Funeral Mass in Immaculate Conception Church, Weymouth at 10:30 AM.

Burial in Fairmount Cemetery, Weymouth.

In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Harold may be made to Alzheimer’s Assn., MA Chapter, 309 Waverley Oaks Rd., Waltham, MA 02452.
