Karle, Harold Lawrence “Larry” of Hingham and Harwich Port died on Saturday September 17, 2011, surrounded by the family he cherished.The beloved husband of 44 years to Helene (Holfelder) Karle of Hingham. Loving father of Andrea M. Sullivan and her husband Mark of Medfield, Lawrence R. Karle and his wife Laurie-Anne of Norwell, Jane Ellen Harrison and her husband Michael of Wilbraham, Robert F. Karle and his wife Michelle of Canton, Paul J. Karle and his wife Wendy of Winchester and Caroline M. MacKenzie and her husband Brian of Dorchester. Brother of John “Jack” Karle of RI & FL , Alice Cieslik of Hingham and the late Marie McCarthy. Adored grandfather of Madeline, Shea, Sydney, Peyton, Ryan, Paul, Jr., Andrew, Audrey, Luke and Griffin. Larry is also survived by nineteen nieces, nephews and many beloved godchildren. Larry was a proud U.S. Navy veteran. A graduate of Boston College, he worked as an accountant for Boston Edison for 42 years retiring in 1988. He enjoyed playing golf ,sailing, and reading. Larry was a former hockey player and avid fan of the Boston Bruins and Boston College sports. His greatest pride was supporting his grandchildren’s sports teams. The essence of his life was his family. He truly enjoyed spending time at his summer home in Harwich Port surrounded by his family and close friends. Larry will be sadly missed by all those who knew him. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the visiting hours on Thursday 4-8 PM at the Pyne Keohane Funeral Home, 21 Emerald St. (off Central St.), HINGHAM. A Celebration of Life Service will be held at the funeral home on Friday at 9:15am prior to the Funeral Mass at The Church of the Resurrection, Hingham at 10 am. Burial at St. Paul’s Cemetery, Hingham. Donations in memory of Larry may be made to The Jimmy Fund, 10 Brookline Place West, 6th Floor, Brookline, MA 02445-7295.
