Vartanian, Gretchen H. (Stone) of Quincy, March 5, 2007. Wife of the late Edward P. Golden and the late Walter Vartanian. Sister of the late Eleanor Gregory, Brenford F., Allan, Loren and Milton W. Stone. Devoted aunt of Ruth E. and her husband William Fullerton of Weymouth, Dorothy Sullivan of Charlestown, Brenford K. Stone of Medford and Jack and his wife Maryann Stone of PA. Also survived by many nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the funeral service in the Keohane Funeral Home, 785 Hancock St., WOLLASTON, Friday at 10:30 AM. Visiting hours Thursday 4-8 PM. Burial in Pine Hill Cemetery, Quincy. Gretchen was born and raised in PA. She lived in Charlestown before moving to Quincy where she has lived for more than 60 years. She was married to the late Edward P. Golden and the late Walter Vartanian. She was the proprietor of Gretchen’s Variety Store in Charlestown for over 30 years. After retiring from the store she was a receptionist for a Doctor’s Bldg. in Brookline for over 20 years. Gretchen enjoyed singing and sang on the radio in Buffalo,NY when she was 16 years old. She also enjoyed gardening, was a whizz at crossword puzzles and an excellent seamstress.
