Pitts, Grace L. (Madden) of Hull, formerly of Mashpee and Brockton, died October 25, 2012. Beloved wife of 64 years of John J. Pitts of Hull. Loving mother of Regina Amaral of Hull and her late husbnd Kenny Amaral, Michelle Hallamore and her husband Scott of Stonington, CT, John T. Pitts and his wife Kathleen of Avon, CT and Denise Mortenson and her husband John of Mendham, NJ. Sister of the late Dorothy Carosi, Ruth Leonard and Pauline Heine. Cherished grandmother of Beth, Matt, Phil, Erin, Phil, Scott, Rob, Leah and Dan. Great-grandmother of Kira, Lula and Timothy. Grace was born in Boston and grew up in Quincy. She was a graduate of North Quincy High School Class of 1943 and attended Hickock Secretarial School. Grace worked for the City of Brockton in the clerk’s office for 10 years before retiring in 1984. In her earlier years she worked as a Secretary for American Export Lines in Boston. She was a founding member of the Mashpee Women’s Club and a member of the Lady’s Sodality at Our Lady of the Lords in Brockton. Grace was an amazing cook, always feeding anyone who came into her home. She is remembered by her family as a woman with an incredible zest for life, with a very loving and caring personality. Most of all Grace’s family was the most important aspect of her life. She will be missed by all who had the pleasure to have known her. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the visiting hours on Sunday 2-6 PM in the Pyne Keohane Funeral Home, 21 Emerald St. (off Central St.), HINGHAM. A Celebration of Life Service will be held in the funeral home at 9:15 AM on Monday prior to the Funeral Mass in St. Mary’s Parish in St. Ann’s Church, Hull at 10 AM. Burial in Mt. Wollaston Cemetery, Quincy. Donations in memory of Grace may be made to Orphans of Fr. Bash, 154 Summer St. Medway, MA 02053 – Checks payable to Marian Community.
