Grace E. Penny

Penny, Grace E. (Nelson) of Hingham, formerly of Jamaica Plain and Mattapan died on October 8, 2006 at the age of 97. Wife of the late Sgt. Donald D. Penny, BPD. Loving Mother of Nancy D. and her husband Sheldon Daly of Hingham, Janet P. and her husband James Bambrick of Mahwah, NJ and Diane P. and her husband Henry King of Hanover. Mrs. Penny is also survived by 12 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the funeral from the Pyne Keohane Funeral Home, 21 Emerald Street, Hingham, Wednesday at 9 AM. Funeral Mass in Saint Paul’s Church, Hingham at 10 AM. Visiting hours Tuesday 4-8 PM. Burial in Saint Joseph’s Cemetery, West Roxbury. Grace was a devoted mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She celebrated her 97th birthday at a party with many of her grandchildren and great grandchildren in Mahwah, NJ on September 23, 2006. Grace was born in Boston in 1909, lived in Jamaica Plain and Mattapan before moving to her daughter Nancy Daly’s home in Hingham three years ago. Grace was a lifelong Boston Red Sox fan who celebrated two world championships. Grace devoted her life to her family. She enjoyed caring for her home and cooking. Apple pie was her specialty.
