Gloria Ann Noble

Gloria Ann (Dunn) Noble of Quincy, MA. passed away peacefully October 1, 2013 surrounded by her grandchildren.  Gloria was the beloved wife of Robert G. Noble Sr. for 63 years.  

Born in Dorchester, Gloria and Bob crossed the bridge to Quincy in 1952 where they raised their family.  Her four children, ten grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren were the center of her life.  Gloria could always be found attending an event a member of her family was participating in from athletics to the arts and everything in between.

Gloria was the devoted mother of Robert G. Noble Jr. (Donna), Alicia Gardner (William Sr.), Nancy Noble (Charles McLaughlin) and Andrea White (Roger Sr.).  She was the cherished grandmother to Christopher Noble (Kelly), Elizabeth Gatz (Steve), Kathryn Noble, Nancy Delisle (Eugene), William Gardner Jr., Robert Gardner (Caroline), Julia White, Roger White Jr., Matthew McLaughlin (Beth), Peter McLaughlin (Lauren) and Great Grandmother to Macayla Noble, Devon and Meredith Gatz,  Andrew DeLisle, Ben, Tyler, Emily, Ansley, and Johnny McLaughlin.

Gloria was predeceased by her loving parents Walter and Alice Dunn, and her siblings Edward Dunn, Eleanor Perkins (Bill), and Marjorie Mahoney(John).  She is survived by her sister Alicia Coletti (David, deceased).  In addition Gloria is survived by her brother in law Paul Noble (Fran, deceased), sister in law Marie Stapleton (Frank) and sister in law Josephine Noble.  Devoted to her family, Gloria was the aunt to 19 nieces and nephews and their children.

Gloria was a committed volunteer and supporter of her community including:  President of the South Shore Women’s Political Caucus, Past Commander of The Southeastern Chapter of the American Ex-Prisoners of War, Board member of Domestic Violence Ended/Dove, the Good Shepherd Maria Droste Agency counseling services, Ex-Prisoners  of War Local Chapter, Member of Wollaston Mothers Club, 25 year member of  The Quincy Christmas Festival Committee, 10 year member of Quincy’s First Night Committee, Member of the Quincy Historical Society, member of Quincy Democratic City Committee Ward 2, member of Friends of the Thomas Crane Public Library, The Juvenile Diabetes Foundation, and The Family Autism Center.  Gloria was an active parishioner of Saint Albert The Great Church, Weymouth.   Additionally, Gloria, a dedicated democrat,  participated in many political campaigns on the local, state and national level.

Gloria and Bob were the recipient of many awards, among them, Jewish War Veterans Citizen of the Year, The Quincy Sun Citizen of the Year, Elizabeth “Betty” Swanton Community Service Award and the Dennis F. Ryan Democrat of the Year award.

Friends and family are respectfully invited to attend the visiting hours on Sunday, 3-7 p.m. in the Keohane Funeral Home, 785 Hancock St. Quincy. A Celebration of Life service will be held in the funeral home  Monday, 10 a.m, prior to the Funeral Mass in  Saint Albert the Great Church, 1130 Washington St., Weymouth, MA. at 11AM. Due to family allergies, in lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation in Gloria’s memory to: Crossroads School, 11 Huron Dr., Natick, MA., 01760 or www.crossroadsschoolma.org  or  Maria Droste Counseling Services, 1354 Hancock St., Quincy, MA.  02169.  Interment will be private.  A remembrance of Gloria’s life will be held immediately following the funeral Mass at  The Tirell Room, 254 Quarry Street, Quincy, MA  02169.
