Haas, Glenn S. of Weymouth, passed away peacefully in his home on July 16, 2021. He was 71. Born in Ossining New York, the son of the late Gilbert and Joyce Haas.
Glenn was a graduate of Northeastern University with a master’s in environmental engineering.
He worked for 40 years as an Environmental Engineer for the Department of Environmental Protection. Until his retirement, for the past 10 years he worked for Brown and Caldwell as a consultant.
Glenn loved to spend his time with friends and family. He was an avid golfer and loved telling jokes. He was also a member of the New England Water Environment Association.
Glenn was the beloved husband of Deborah J. (Brown) Haas of Weymouth, MA. Loving father to Jennifer Lawton and her husband, Douglas, of Ayer, Rebecca Haas and her fiancé, Gregory Cormier, of Leominster, Christopher Haas and his wife, Teri, of Ashby, and Jeremiah Smith of Quincy. Brother of Jon Haas and his wife, Cathy of Groveton, NH, and sister Wendy Kirkland of Quinebaug, CT, who predeceased Glenn in 2019.
Glenn was the loving grandfather to 10 grandchildren, Tyler Lawton, Robert Lawton, Hannah Dixon, Steven Lawton, Samantha Lawton, Autumn Cormier, Grace Cormier, Austin Haas, Alyssa Haas, and Molly Cormier.
Glenn was also survived by his former wife Joan Peterson of Leominster, as well as many nieces and nephews .
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to greet the family during the visitation on Friday from 10AM-11AM in the McDonald Keohane Funeral Home SOUTH WEYMOUTH at 809 Main Street (Rte 18 opp. So. Shore Hospital).
Funeral services will be celebrated on Friday at 11 AM the funeral home. Burial will follow in Pine Hill Cemetery, Quincy.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105 or to American Lung Association, 1661 Worcester Road, Suite, 301, Framingham, MA 01701.
