Klier, Gladys M. (Shattuck) of Squantum passed away peacefully at her home on Monday, August 4, 2008. She was born in Dorchester, daughter of the late Ethel Shattuck of Dorchester. She was a resident of Squantum for 55 years. She was a respected member of the insurance industry. She was employed by James Kemper Ins. and Arbella Ins. for over 35 years. She retired in 1995. She loved her family and friends. Her interest were travel and charitable organizations that supported disabled retarded citizens and Haitian relief associations. She was the beloved wife of the late George J. Klier, Jr. Devoted mother of George and his wife, Ginni of Squantum, and Leo Klier of Wrentham. Cherished grandmother of Sean and his wife Michelle and their two daughters Sarah and Allison of Weymouth, Brian of Weymouth, Christopher and his fiancee Natalie Quinn and Matthew, all of Squantum. She was the mother-in-law of the late Dottie (Ware) Klier of Squantum. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the funeral from the Keohane Funeral Home, 785 Hancock St., QUINCY, Friday at 9 AM. Funeral Mass in Sacred Heart Church, N. Quincy at 10:00 AM. Visiting hours Thursday 4 – 8 PM. Burial in Cedar Grove Cemetery, Dorchester. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Gladys’ name to the Special Gift Fund – Wrentham Developmental Center PO Box 144 Wrentham, MA 02093.
