Giulia E. Gratta

Giulia  E. (Politano) Gratta of Hingham, died February 1, 2017.  The beloved wife of 60 years to Joseph Gratta. She was the devoted mother to her 3 sons, Paul Gratta and his wife Lauren of Norwell, Joseph Gratta and his wife Rose of Scituate, Mario Gratta and his wife Traci of Norwell  and her only daughter Elizabeth Gratta of Hull and her former husband Andy Gilmartin. Sister of Maria, Frank, Tony, Victor, Candida and Malia and the late Rosina and Felice. Cherished Nana of Joseph, Stephanie, Francesca, Julianna, Joseph, Julietta, Marissa, Eliza and Nico. Giulia along with her husband Joseph were the owners of Gratta Groceries in Hingham and the Atlantic Hill Market in Hull for many years. She was a talented seamstress and a fabulous cook. She loved listening to Italian music and dancing. The most important aspect of her life was her family, she was devoted to them all and in return they cherished her. She will be sadly missed by everyone who knew her. 

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the visiting hours on Monday 4-8 PM in the Pyne Keohane Funeral Home, 21 Emerald St. (off Central St.), HINGHAM.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held in the funeral home at 9:15 AM on Tuesday prior to the Funeral Mass in St. Paul’s Church, Hingham at 10 AM.

Burial in St. Paul’s Cemetery, Hingham.

In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Giulia may be made to a charity of your choice.
