Gilda Knowles

Knowles, Gilda (Kaufman) of Weymouth, died October 5, 2015. 

Gilda graduated from North Quincy High School and received her Associate’s degree from Quincy College and Boston State College. She was very active with her children and grandchildren’s activities and was happiest when she was surrounded by them. She was a Cub Scout leader, ROTC adviser, involved with the Wollaston Congregational Church, and strongly involved with community activities. She was a coordinator of SHARE Food Program and former member of Ward 5 Republican Committee and was a long serving election day warden. Gilda was a warm hearted, caring person with a great sense of humor. Her family was her world and she will be greatly missed by all who knew her. 

Devoted mother of Joshua F. Knowles and his wife Rebecca of Naples, ME, Matthew E. Knowles and his wife Ashley of North Attleboro, Adam J. Knowles of Weymouth, and Jessica McAuliffe and her husband Noel of Abington. Loving sister of Vicki Kaufman of Weymouth and Ronald Kaufman of Boston and Washington, DC. Cherished “Grammy” of Jacob, Tanda, Xavier, Samuel, Leo, Jordan, Emma, Job, Zoey, and Drake. Also survived by loving nieces and nephews. 

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the visiting hours on Wednesday 5-9 PM  in the Keohane Funeral Home, 785 Hancock St., QUINCY.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Gilda’s name to Beth Israel Deaconess Hospital – Milton, 199 Reedsdale Rd., Milton, MA 02186.
